For some art started in their Subconscious, for Toju Clarke, it started in primary school with arranging beads on board in fine art class. Toju Clarke is a Lagos born visual artist and entrepreneur who employs Digital Art and Sgraffito (scratching on canvas), to depict the psychological and mental state of himself and persons closest to him in his works.
Despite studying Graphics in Yaba College of Technology, his knack for arts has led him to become a top finalist at NSAC (Nigerian Student Art Contest) in 2018, Art Director for TRIBE-FEST in 2018, the Best Graphic/ Digital Art at LIMCAF (Life in my city art festival) in 2019. An Alumni of Next Economy/Fate Foundation and a member of The Executive Helping Initiative.
Exhibitions include; The OG series (21 semester, Dumb shit POP UP Exhibition), Artnsoul exhibition at sky box lekki phase 1 in 2018, Lennox mall art fair at lekki phase 1, EXPO art exhibition at Raddison blu hotel Ikeja, Lagos and LIMCAF (Life in my city art festival) in 2019.
He has spoken words about his art through a host of media houses including platforms like Unilag fm, silverbird, Television continental (TVC), Channels TV’s Art House. He looks forward to creating awareness on issues that affects humans through his works and hope his art inspires people to take a leap like he did and does every time he puts hands to screen, needles to scratch or pen to paper.
